“Gail Powell brings a wealth of editorial and writing experience to any communications endeavour. She is bright, exceptionally thorough in her written and verbal communications and has a delicious sense of humour. She can be counted on to bring creative ideas to the table and is tenacious in her desire to deliver thoughtful, well-researched and written copy.” – Sandra Eagle, Editor, Digital + Special Projects, Ignite Magazine.
For over a quarter century, I’ve covered the Canadian food industry. From food processing, manufacturing and marketing to restaurants, chefs, grocery and everything in between.
With a comprehensive list of communication-based roles, I am a freelance writer, editor and college prof. seeking writing and editing opportunities on the topics of food, travel, and human interest. As a life-long learner and educator, I enjoy sifting through research and organizing data to write and present clear and concise copy.
I’ve asked thousands of questions, fleshed out fresh and innovative story angles and employed positive communication strategies from both my corporate communications toolkit and multiple teaching gigs.
My published work can be found in a variety of Metroland Media news sites including Orangeville.com, Toronto.com and MuskokaRegion.com.
I’ve written pieces for a variety of publications over the years including Canadian Grocer, Marketing, Bakers Journal, Canadian Metalworking, Plant: Canada’s Manufacturing Magazine, Today’s Parent, The Ontario Technologist and The Globe and Mail.
Currently I profile Dufferin County and Caledon area restaurants twice a month for Orangeville.com #HungryInHeadwaters and for The Orangeville Citizen #DiningInDufferin. |
