Description

We are seeking a dynamic, energetic community reporter
to cover Indigenous issues
in the Six Nations of the Grand River First
Nation community in southern Ontario for Ontario's
award-winning newspaper and
online edition of Turtle Island News.

Qualifications

  • Journalism or communications graduate.
  • Experienced in both print and online media an asset along with photo experience.
  • Able to work within a First Nation community.
  • Driver's license and vehicle necessary.

 

Turtle Island News is an award winning Indigenous owned newspaper that focuses on Indigenous issues in Canada, with emphasis on Ontario.  A reporter working for us must be willing to work within the community and open to learning about Indigenous issues. Some travel may be necessary. Able to take photos, cover events in some cases going live to social media. Experience in a First Nation community an asset, but not necessary.
