Description

Program Development and Communications - Ontario Mine Rescue

Join us. Make a difference.

At Workplace Safety North, we are dedicated to brining every worker home safe and healthy.  We are seeking people who share our passion for health and safety excellence.

As part of a high-performance team, you will assist clients in meeting and exceeding their mine rescue responsibilities through knowledge transfer.  This includes researching, writing, and designing occupational health and safety products and programs in support of Ontario Mine Rescue.

In this role, you will utilize your exceptional writing, editing and visual media skills, project management, instructional design skills, and multi-media content development skills for the preparation of communication products and training programs across a range of platforms.

In a collaborative team environment, you will work with subject matter experts, internal and external stakeholders, to develop communications and training content that satisfies learner and client needs.  Your ability to develop and deliver multi-media communications materials and training programs is complemented by your ability to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

You possess sound knowledge of instructional design, adult education, and facilitation, and have obtained a post-secondary degree in journalism or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience, complemented with a minimum of 2 years of related job experience.  Formal education in instructional design and/or adult learning is helpful, as is knowledge of the mining industry.

The work involves exposure to the underground mining environment and adverse conditions and long duration travel provincially.  Travel away from home of approximately 20-30 days per year is required.

This position provides a challenging career with an attractive benefits package and salary based on qualifications.  If you feel you meet our needs and are interested in being a part of a rewarding career in occupational health and safety, please forward your cover letter stating you found this job on Jeff Gaulin's Journalism Board and resume by September 30, 2021.
