JOURNALIST – Local Journalism Initiative
Glacier Media, one of Western Canada’s leading community news publishers, has an exciting opportunity for a journalist covering municipal affairs in Northeast Saskatchewan based out of the Humboldt Journal. This position is funded by the federal government’s new Local Journalism Initiative (LJI) through March 31, 2021
with the possibility of extension.
The ideal candidate is a meticulous, detail-oriented reporter with the capacity to develop deep knowledge of their beats and an extensive network of sources while writing coverage for multiple community news outlets.
Travel between multiple communities will be required when permitted.
Candidates will possess the ability to work independently and as part of a larger remote team and be able to work under tight deadlines.
Preferences will be given to people with post-secondary journalism education or the equivalent experience.
