Deadline: March 20, 2019

You want to tell interesting stories, not just cover scrums or read wire copy.
You live a multi-media life, getting and sharing information on different platforms.
You are intrigued by the potential for digital journalism, and how it can work with broadcast.
You want to use the different platforms to tell stories that evoke a reaction and start a conversation.  You have experience on-air and in the digital environment.
You love the immediacy of radio. Using sound to paint pictures, and you get excited about covering big stories and breaking news.
You have the ability to get people to tell you their story and to then tell their story so that others want to hear.
You want to take on new challenges in an environment where you get feedback and coaching from seasoned professionals.
You’re wondering where you can do this.
You should talk to us.
Our team at News Talk Radio in Saskatchewan has won dozens of awards.  We’ve earned a reputation for covering breaking news like no one else and telling the stories of Saskatchewan people every day.
Whether it’s anchor, reporter or digital journalist, or talk-show producer, these days in many ways it’s really one job description. And it’s the one that fits you, because you have the ability and the desire to work in different roles.

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a broadcast newsroom.
  • Experience reporting and anchoring.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Experience with web writing and editing, familiarity with CP Style Guide.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Knowledge of digital editing.  Familiarity with KLZ Newsroom is an asset.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Rawlco Radio is an equal opportunity employer.
We have a vacancy at 650 CKOM for a journalist right now. We’re also building our talent bank for the future.
If any of these kinds of positions interest you, then we’re interested in hearing from you!
