We’re looking for a fashion editor to create digital, print, social and video content that builds on our mandate. This will include writing fashion features and trending articles and conceptualizing playful packages and series, always with an eye to relevance and digital performance. The fashion editor will also work with the art director on photo shoots and act as an ambassador for the brand. The successful candidate will be a collaborative, creative, positive, deadline-oriented team player with great taste and excellent writing skills and an authentic grasp for, and love of, digital storytelling. This role reports to the editor-in-chief.
What you will do:
  • Brainstorm creative story and shoot ideas
  • Write and build trending articles and fashion features within tight deadlines
  • Assign and edit fashion features
  • Conceptualize and occasionally oversee editorial packages
  • Attend and work on photo shoots
  • Act as an ambassador for The Kit at events and on TV, as needed
  • Uphold the quality and values of The Kit and Torstar


  • Post-secondary degree in journalism, fashion communications or related field
  • 3+ years of post-university work experience
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Authentic understanding of digital and social storytelling
  • Strong visual skills; styling skills are an asset
  • Strong Wordpress skills
  • Relationships within the fashion and beauty industry
  • Understanding of the style landscape in Canada and beyond
  • Understanding of The Kit voice, brand and DNA
