Black Press Media seeks such an individual to take on the unique full-time role of a mobile reporter. This position is responsible for providing editorial support in any of our 70-plus newsrooms across B.C. as the need arises.
We require a highly talented, motivated journalist who has the demonstrated ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team, quickly assimilate print and digital procedures and protocols, and produce compelling copy on deadline for print products, websites and social media.
This is a prime opportunity for an experienced journalist seeking a new challenge that offers travel and a variety of editorial assignments.
The successful applicant will work closely with colleagues, the publisher and provincial editorial director, creating content across a full range of breaking news, features and community news.
Candidates will possess outstanding writing and oral communication skills and a clear understanding of copy editing, grammar and Canadian Press style.
Flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to travel throughout B.C. on short notice, are vital.
The chosen candidate will possess an excellent understanding of social media, photography, video and print journalism, including a working knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop.
Key importance is placed on the ability to produce content quickly and cleanly, with minimal editor supervision.
