Do you have a passion for telling stories, thrive under pressure, and have the desire to bring the most compelling stories to listeners and readers?   The Jim Pattison Broadcast Group in Grande Prairie has an exciting opportunity for an anchor/reporter/digital journalist.
 
Duties include:
  • Anchoring live newscasts
  • Reporting from meetings, events and media releases
  • Ability to pitch original story ideas daily
  • Producing compelling content for radio, and our digital news site
  • Tenacious story chasing
  • Establishing and maintaining contacts
  • Being active on our social media platforms

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or diploma from a recognized broadcast school
  • Minimum two years of experience in a newsroom
  • A passion for news and storytelling
  • Excellent research, writing and presentation skills
  • Strong social media skills
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and on your own
  • Coachable
  • Ability to deal with tight deadlines
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence
  • Video editing skills are a bonus
